This series is my most current body of work and began during an art residency in Finland in 2023 as a repetitive brushing practice used to observe and quiet the mind. Each gesture was made through sustained focus, repeated until distraction, fatigue, and physical exhaustion gradually became part of the work itself.
Working on increasingly larger surfaces, the process evolved into a dialogue between mind, body, breath, and material. Structure and repetition became a way to navigate the tension between concentration and surrender, control and release.
The work functions as a record of presence, where gesture, duration, and exhaustion trace the shifting relationship between thought, attention, and letting go.
