Behnoosh Feiz

I am a multidisciplinary artist currently living in the Italian countryside. I grew up in Shiraz, Iran, where I spent my summers studying painting with local artists, immersed in Persian miniature, geometric patterns, figurative and portrait painting.

After moving to Germany to study naturopathy, and later pursuing interior design, I went on to establish an interior design boutique in Dubai. These diverse experiences shaped my understanding of structure, space, and the relationship between body, mind, and spirit- elements that now form the foundation of my artistic practice. In 2017, my volunteer work at Mawaheb Art Studio, working closely with people of determination, marked a turning point and led me back fully to Art.

My work explores the tension between presence and absence, rooted in quiet observations of everyday life. Through repetition of squares, strokes, and marks, I investigate the subtle moment when focused attention begins to drift and presence starts to dissolve.

This tension reflects an ongoing negotiation between opposing forces: awareness and distraction, control and surrender, stillness and movement. My process is both mental and physical, unfolding until body, mind, and material are pushed to exhaustion. From this point, control gives way and a more instinctive mode of creation reveals itself.

Ultimately, I seek to give form to this shifting inner state, inviting the viewer to slow down and reflect on the fragile and ever-changing experience of being…..
